Day 3 : Favorite Christmas food/recipe
I was nominated by Deanna from a novel glimpse to do this lovely challenge! You should definitely check out her blog! The challenge was originally created by StephJ.
- Include the photo below in each blog post
- You may start at any point in December
- Use the topic supplied for the post of that day
- Make sure all posts are in December, but they don’t have to be posted consecutively (lets face it it’s a busy time)
- Nominate 3 people after each blog to start the challenge
- Have fun!
I really love Porchetta. We eat it as ‘Christmas dinner’, I think almost every year once around Christmas time. I don’t know the recipe for this, because we get it at our local Butcher, who is amazing. I did find this recipe from Food Network on the internet:

I love everything about it, the meat, the sauce, the flavours all together. Mmm.
I actually do love almost every kind of food, so cookies, cupcakes, candy and chocolate are welcome as well.
After the 2nd day of 12 days of Christmas blogging, I got an idea. In my recent post I talked about how in my country we celebrate Sinterklaas (Saint Nicholas) so I thought it would be fun to include in the following posts a fact about Sinterklaas that’s related to the theme of that day’s post.
Sinterklaas has got, instead of Sainta Claus’ reindeers, pieten. Those are his assistants. They scatter around candy and especially cookie-like confectionary (they’re made of speculoos, which they say you can compare a little to gingerbread). Which is the main thing people eat as nicy around Saint Nicholas.
To get an indication of what they look like, visit this website via the link: http://uitpaulineskeuken.nl/2013/11/lekker-recept-pepernoten.html
It’s all a little bit difficult to explain, because we’ve got our own words for things that you can’t translate in English. So please forgive me for my mistakes, I’m giving it my best try :).
